Abstract


The purpose of this research was to improve the quality of results and services in
education of kindergarten. The specific objective of this study was to develop a
model-based character education culture of peace (PKT-BD) as an effort to
develop the kindergarten children how to behave properly and reduce bullying in
school and outside the school environment. The type of research is research and
development. Data was collected used: questionnaires, interviews, observation
and documentation. Data was analyzed with descriptive qualitative. The results
showed: a). Learning the value of the material culture of peace with honesty,
peace, courage, self-discipline, loyalty, respect, compassion, empathy, mutual
help, harmony, and justice is needed to be implemented in kindergarten; b).
PKT-BD models developed consisting of components of the model are: the
rational, objectives, scope, target population, the working principle, system
services, the role of teachers, the process of implementation and evaluation of
programs, as well as implementation guidelines: otherwise have met the
eligibility content/conceptual according to experts and the feasibility of
empirical early childhood/operations based on the assessment of teachers in
schools. Results of the study have implications for the science of early childhood
education, problem solving cultural values of peace children, and reducing
conflict behavior and violence (bullying) for children.
