Abstract


In the millennial era, literacy is a very important thing to increase understanding of the role of tourism in general as the capital of the internationalization of culture and local wisdom possessed by each region. The purpose of this study was to describe and explain the implementation of ancient temple comics in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) as a material for tourism literacy. The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. This analysis was used to see the achievement of the implementation of these comics in socializing ancient temples in DIY more broadly. The results of this study were that there can be 46.15% which stated it was helped to get information about ancient temples in DIY with the existence of ancient temple comics. Data was taken from domestic respondents, while foreign respondents stated 30.7% that this comic media could help in providing information on ancient temple tourism in DIY, and 30.7% stated that it was less helpful in knowing ancient temple tourism information in DIY. Thus, it can be concluded that foreign and domestic tourists were quite helped by the existence of this media, in finding information on ancient temple tourism in DIY.
