KOMUNIKASI INTERPERSONAL DAN KEPUASAN PERNIKAHAN PADA INDIVIDU DEWASA AWAL

Abstract


Marriage is an inner and outer bond between a man and a woman in order to form a happy family. Satisfaction in marriage is the goal that all couples want to achieve. One important factor that influences marital satisfaction is communication with a partner.  There are five indicators of the effectiveness of interpersonal communication, namely openness, empathy, support, positive attitude and equality. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction in early adult individuals. The subjects in this study were men and women, aged 25-40 and working. The number of subjects in this study were 160 people. The data in this study were analyzed using Spearman correlation test analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant positive relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction in early adult individuals (r = 0.571; p = 0.001). The higher the interpersonal communication, the higher the marital satisfaction. Thus the research subject is expected to be able to provide an open attitude, positive attitude, equality, empathy and support to their partners.
