EVALUASI DALAM PENGEMBANGAN PROFESIONALISME DOSEN DI FITK UIN MAULANA MALIK IBRAHIM MALANG

Abstract


One of the determinants of the success in educational institution is educator. At school, it is called a teacher and in a university it is called a lecturer. Teachers and lecturers are those who is equally devoted to educate the students. Therefore, the process of educator development must be prioritized considering that educators are one of the determining factors for the success and output of students. In an educational institution, especially university, the level of professionalism of the lecturer determines the quality as implemented in the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi. Competent lecturers carrying out their duties professionally. They have pedagogic, professional, personal and social competencies. For this reason, a lecturer development program is needed. It is called as lecturer development program. It requires evaluation, because evaluation is a process to determine whether a program has been implemented successfully or not. Development evaluation is a good step to determine whether HR in an organization is able to create satisfactory results and carry out activities to achieve or exceed performance standards. Development evaluation is used to assess internal and external stakeholder satisfaction with the product or service produced. According to Rivai, one of the main activities of development evaluation is assessing the strengths and weaknesses of employees. Thus, development evaluation will provide opportunities for supervisors to analyze the knowledge, skills and attitudes of their employees. Besides, it determines good areas that need improvement. This research was conducted at FITK of Malang Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University related to Lecturer Professionalism Development. However it was more focused on evaluating lecturer professionalism development. This study uses qualitative approach and the type of research is multicasus. The data were collected by interview, observation and documentation techniques. After the data were collected, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion were carried out. Checking the validity of the data uses triangulation and extension of the study period.
